Add-On — Dual-Format Video
Shot independently in 16:9 and 9:16. No cropping. No resolution loss. Full-quality video for MLS and full-quality video for social — each produced from scratch.
The Problem With Cropping
When a 16:9 frame is cropped to 9:16, you lose more than half the image. Wide rooms become narrow slices. Carefully framed doorways get cut in half. The composition your photographer or videographer built — gone.
To show well on every platform, you need media that was shot for the platform it will live on. That means two separate shoots on the same day, with the framing, movement, and composition rebuilt for each format.
Horizontal — 16:9
Wide-angle rooms, flowing walkthrough movement, full-width cinematic framing. Built for large-screen viewing and property listing platforms.
Vertical — 9:16
Shot separately from scratch. Taller frames, vertical movement, close-in detail shots — built for the format, not derived from the horizontal edit.
The Technique
The entire property is shot natively in 16:9 first — every room, every transition, every detail, composed for a widescreen frame. That edit stands on its own.
Then the property is walked again, shooting everything natively in 9:16. Camera orientation, movement, and framing are rebuilt for the vertical format — not extra angles from the same setup, but an entirely separate video built from the ground up.
Both versions go into independent post-production. The horizontal edit is cut and graded for widescreen pacing. The vertical edit is re-cut for mobile — different rhythm, different transitions, different focal decisions. The final delivery is two complete, professionally edited videos.

Common Questions
You can — but you lose between 44 and 56 percent of the original resolution, and the composition collapses. Wide-angle rooms become narrow. Key details get cut. What were clean, intentional frames become awkward crops. The only way to preserve full quality for both platforms is to shoot each format natively.
Yes — count on an additional 30 to 45 minutes on-site compared to a single-format shoot. The camera rig is repositioned and moves are re-choreographed for the vertical frame. It is two complete shoots, not a quick pass with a rotated camera. The schedule is coordinated in advance so there are no surprises.
Horizontal (16:9) is delivered for MLS listings, Realtor.ca, your website, YouTube, and email campaigns. Vertical (9:16) is delivered for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Both are exported at full resolution, colour-graded, and ready to upload.
The Standard upgrade adds dual-format filming and editing to a Standard Video package — two passes, two edits, same production style. The Signature upgrade applies the same two-pass approach to a Signature Video production, which means both versions also receive motion graphics, layered sound design, and the Signature colour treatment. Both upgrades deliver genuinely independent horizontal and vertical edits.
Both versions are edited independently from the ground up. The horizontal edit is paced and colour-graded for wide-screen viewing. The vertical edit is re-cut specifically for mobile — different pacing, different transition timing, different focal decisions. Neither is a derivative of the other.
